Sheriff Martin Ryan and Key Amador Leader Announce Support For Assemblymember Huber

For Immediate Release
October 5, 2010

Huber Also Receives Sacramento Bee Endorsement

JACKSON - Assemblymember Alyson Huber held a press conference today in Jackson to announce strong bipartisan support in Amador County for her campaign for the 10th Assembly District.  Supporters joined Huber at the announcement to discuss why they support sending her back to the Assembly to cut through the politics and fight for the district.

"I don't often make endorsements but Alyson Huber is different, and I'm proud to support her," said Amador County Sheriff Martin Ryan standing side by side with Alyson Huber this morning. "She's different than most legislators. She listens, she uses common sense to solve problems and she is deeply engaged in the community. It has been a pleasure to work closely with her on public safety issues during her first term and I look forward to continuing to work with her."

Joining Sheriff Ryan in announcing their support of Huber are:

Connie Gonsalves, Mayor, City of Jackson
Keith Sweet, Councilmember, City of Jackson
Norm Waters, Former Assemblymember
Debbie Dunn, Amador Water Agency
Bill Condrashoff, Amador Water Agency
Dick Glock, Superintendent
Jim Spinetta, 5th Generation Amador County Farmer
Jim Gullet
Harry Vela
Ann Lintz

Prior to the press conference Huber toured the Amador County Interfaith Food Bank and in the evening participated in the Amador Child Care Council's Candidate Forum.

In addition, Assemblymember Huber also received the endorsement from the Sacramento Bee who highlighted her "independent streak and a willingness to buck the Democratic leadership, traits that are in short supply in the Capitol."

In addition, the Bee highlighted her ability to work with Republicans “…Huber, by contrast, has worked with Assemblyman Ted Gaines, a conservative Republican, on a transit issue important to their respective districts.”

According to the Bee, "...she is an energetic and often moderating voice in this hyper-partisan Legislature. Voters would be well-served by sending her back to Sacramento for two more years." (Endorsement: Huber gets the nod for Assembly 10, Oct. 05, 2010)
